Harcourts Launches ‘It’s Cool to be at School’

A collaboration between Inspirational Women and the Harcourts Foundation sees an international campaign to support Fijian children in need.

‘It’s Cool to be in School’ campaign grew out of some distressing facts.

“There are over 25,000 disadvantaged children living in Fiji,” explains Pauline Smith, director of the Harcourts Foundation, and a driving force in Inspirational Women.

“This correlates to over 10% of the child population of Fiji being neglected or disadvantaged.”

Harcourts will be working with four orphanages to get children to school in 2025 by providing them with essential school items.

Along with Ms Smith and her team, Denyse McPhail of Harcourts Fiji will be on the ground in Fiji co-ordinating the project there, and working with Loloma Home & Care Centre, St Mina Children’s Home, St Tabitha Children’s Home, and Treasure House Chrisitan Children’s Home.

“Each contribution has the power to sustain a child's education in Fiji for an entire year!” continues Ms Smith.

“For just $200.00, you can provide these essentials for a child in need throughout the year.

Here's what it means to be cool at school: Two sets of school uniforms, Two pairs of school shoes, One pair of sports shoes, One school backpack, A stationery pack.”

“We understand that not everyone can afford a complete school kit, but still want to contribute. You can purchase half a school kit for $100 or a quarter kit for $50.”

A mix of ages of children will be supported – some will be going into primary school and others high school, as well as a few who have special needs.

“We would love to get as many children from these orphanages to school in 2025 as we possibly can!”

“Together, we can make it possible, and cool to be at school!”

Purchases can be made at the Inspirational Women’s Workshop at HX2024 in New Zealand and Australia, or online at https://inspirationalwomen.net/fiji
